A training workshop for doctors and technicians in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange

A training workshop for doctors and technicians in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange was held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at the Ibn Sina Gastroenterology and Liver Hospital in Khartoum. The workshop titled "Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange" was presented by Dr. Mohamed Ali Ahmed and Dr. Abubakr Abdel Haleem.

 

Twenty doctors and technicians from various hospitals in Sudan participated in the workshop. They were trained on the fundamentals of Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy for patients in intensive care, in addition to the basics of Therapeutic Plasma Exchange.

 

Dr. Mohamed Ali Ahmed, a Gastroenterology and Liver Consultant, highlighted that the workshop aimed to enhance the medical staff's proficiency in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange to deliver improved therapeutic services to patients.

 

Dr. Abubakr Abdel Haleem, an Intensive Care Consultant, mentioned that the workshop included both theoretical and practical sessions, where trainees were instructed on using the necessary devices and equipment for Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange.

 

Concluding the workshop, Dr. Hala Ibrahim, a Gastroenterology and Liver Specialist, emphasized the importance of ongoing training for medical staff to enhance performance and advance diagnostic and therapeutic services, contributing to localizing treatments within the country.
