The National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases in Sudan warmly received the leadership of the Sudanese Consortium for Surgical Development (SCSD) on November 14, 2023.

 

Dr. Abdelmoneim Tayeb Abdo, the General Director of the National Center, and Dr. Montaser AbdelSakhi, the Director of the Ibn Sina Center for Gastrointestinal Diseases, along with members of the SCSD leadership, welcomed the delegation.

 

During the visit, Dr. Abdelmoneim Abdo commended the efforts of the SCSD and their valuable support for the colorectal surgery unit at the Ibn Sina Center for Gastrointestinal Diseases, emphasizing the creation of a patient database.

 

He explained that this database would enhance patient care services and contribute to scientific research. The agreement was reached to transfer this experience to other departments within the center.

 

Additionally, technical support for operating the electronic health database available at the Mohammed Saleh Idris Center for Colorectal Bleeding was discussed and agreed upon.

 

In terms of collaborative efforts, there was an agreement to support the training center at the Khartoum Surgical Development Association, collaborating in various training areas.

 

Dr. Abdelmoneim Abdo expressed appreciation for the Sudanese Consortium for Surgical Development and its collaboration with the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases.
