On Monday, October 9, 2023, a delegation from the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases conducted an inspection visit to the White Nile Gastroenterology Center.
The delegation met with Dr. Ezz Eldin Hassan, Director General of the White Nile State Ministry of Health, Dr. Mohamed Tom, Director of the White Nile Gastroenterology Center, Dr. Amjad Babiker, and Dr. Mohamed Adam El-Din, Director General of Kosti Hospital.
The attendees emphasized the important role of the center in providing gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery services, as well as training medical staff in the state and neighboring regions.
The delegation also agreed on the need to support, equip, and maintain the center, and to provide endoscopic equipment so that it can fulfill its role effectively.
Furthermore, the delegation highlighted the importance of establishing a financial and administrative unit for the center to utilize the support provided to specialized gastroenterology centers, and the necessity of allocating space to establish a fully equipped gastroenterology center in accordance with the engineering plan approved by the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases and the Federal Ministry of Health’s Therapeutic Medicine Administration.
