A delegation from the Advisory Council for the Gastrointestinal System and the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health, visited El Fasher City with the aim of promoting the localization of gastrointestinal and liver services in the states. The delegation's visit included activities in four axes:
First Axis:
The visit involved supervisory oversight and support for Suleiman Fadil Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center at El Fasher Hospital. Additionally, it aimed to establish a reference center for the gastrointestinal system that serves western Sudan, providing gastrointestinal services and training medical staff.
Second Axis:
Launching the operation of the voluntary examination and vaccination center for Hepatitis B at Awadallah Center. The center will continue to provide its services permanently, offering examination and treatment services for those infected with Hepatitis B.
Third Axis:
Activating the gastrointestinal endoscopy surgery service, which had been suspended since 2010 in El Fasher City.
Fourth Axis:
Conducting a workshop on ultrasound techniques from November 10 to 12, 2022, with the participation of 40 specialist doctors in internal medicine and surgery for training on ultrasound technologies.
