As part of the services provided by the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases, the Center, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, organized an awareness workshop under the National Program for the Control of Hepatitis B. The workshop was held at Omdurman Maternity Hospital on Sunday and Tuesday, November 27 and 29, aiming to raise awareness about the disease, its modes of transmission, and treatment guidelines.
The workshop targeted physicians (consultants in obstetrics and gynecology and specialist trainees), healthcare staff (laboratory technicians, midwives, health visitors, pharmacists, psychotherapists, nurses, and surgical assistants), as well as hospital workers. The event received active participation and appreciation from attendees, who welcomed the efforts of the National Center in raising awareness about the disease.
This workshop was preceded by a screening and vaccination campaign at the hospital in October.
