A delegation from the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases conducted an inspection visit to the Gezira Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center. The delegation assessed the extent of the damage to the center and inventoried the remaining devices, equipment, and furniture.
The delegation met with Dr. Osama Abdulrahman, Director General of the Ministry of Health at the Gezira State Secretariat, where the importance of securing the facility and preserving the equipment and devices was emphasized. The future plan to urgently reopen the center was also discussed, ensuring it is ready to receive patients and provide services as soon as the voluntary return is announced by the state government.
The state government was thanked for its previous support in rehabilitating the center in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, and various organizations. This support had enabled the center to operate effectively before the insurgency reached Gezira State. The delegation confirmed the readiness of all partners to resume operations and restore what was destroyed during the war.
