Launch of Inpatient Services at Al-Jazira Center for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy

After months of recovery efforts, Al-Jazira Center for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy has resumed operations once again. Following the same phased plan adopted during the liberation stage, services were gradually restored—starting with referral outpatient clinics, followed by the reactivation of gastrointestinal endoscopy services, in addition to biliary endoscopy procedures. All these services were provided free of charge for four consecutive months, with support from the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, the Federal Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Health and Finance of Gezira State, in support of patients and the people of Gezira State.

With the official handover of the center’s management and the return of structured medical operations, full endoscopy services have now been reinstated. The center has now moved into a new phase of its operational plan.

Launch of Inpatient Services – Effective Today

Thanks to the valued support of the Federal Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, the Ministry of Finance of Gezira State, the Ministry of Health of Gezira State, and the Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA), this support has formed the cornerstone for restoring this vital medical facility after the challenges it faced.

Today, inpatient services were officially launched at Al-Jazira Center for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, marking the beginning of a new phase in delivering comprehensive patient care. This step represents one of the most important milestones in the center’s recovery process. The service was inaugurated by the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gezira State, Dr. Osama Abdelrahman, who emphasized the importance of this achievement in strengthening gastroenterology services in the state. He also praised the dedicated efforts made over the past period to gradually restore the center’s services through well-planned and organized steps—an important accomplishment in the journey of restoring healthcare services in Gezira State.

The event also included the relaunch of scientific activities at the center, supported by Al-Douma Pharma.

What does the launch of inpatient services mean?

Completion of the integrated specialized medical care pathway within the center.

Admission of patients requiring close monitoring and supervised treatment.

Preparing the center for the next operational phases, including intensive care and gastrointestinal surgery.

The center continues to provide specialized medical services with high quality and clear operational plans.
This return is not merely a reopening—it is a new chapter of resilience that reflects the ability of medical, engineering, and administrative teams to restore life to this vital medical institution in Gezira State.
