During a meeting between the Federal Minister of Health, Professor Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, the Director of the General Directorate of Primary Health Care, Dr. Musab Sadiq, and the Director of the National Center for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Dr. Abdelmoniem Al-Tayeb, discussions were held on the outcomes of the Kigali resolutions related to combating viral hepatitis.
The participants emphasized the importance of activating the national strategy approved by the Ministry of Health, strengthening coordination among relevant departments to implement its components, and maximizing the use of donor support opportunities—particularly in light of the global commitment to eliminate hepatitis B by 2026.
The Federal Minister of Health reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting this national effort, highlighting the adoption of an integrated model that combines treatment and prevention, with the potential for its application across other health programs to achieve improved outcomes.
