National Center for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases Supports Omdurman Teaching Hospital's Endoscopy Department

As part of the National Center for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases' plan to localize digestive endoscopy services in Sudan and expand the reach of gastroenterology services in Khartoum, the center conducted a follow-up visit to the endoscopy department at Omdurman Teaching Hospital.

 

During the visit, an agreement was reached to resume operations in the endoscopy unit at Omdurman Teaching Hospital. Two endoscopic devices, one for upper endoscopy and one for lower endoscopy, were provided to the unit. Additionally, arrangements were made to support the unit with all necessary requirements for its functionality.

 

Dr. Abdel Monem Tayeb, the Director of the National Center for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases, emphasized that this visit is part of the center's efforts to improve the quality of healthcare services provided to patients. It aims to reduce waiting lists for patients seeking gastroenterology services in government hospitals.

 

Dr. Tayeb added that the rehabilitation and operation of the endoscopy department at Omdurman Teaching Hospital will contribute to delivering better medical services to patients in Khartoum State. It will also aid in reducing patient waiting lists.
