The national center for gastrointestinal and liver diseases receives a kind visit from Prof Ahmed Abd ElWahed from Leipzig University Germany.
The visit came as part of joined research in Mycobacterium Avium Para tuberculosis subspecies in Africa which include Ibn sina gastrointestinal center with two german universities
The visit discussed the end of the first part of the project that funded by DFG in germany and the beginning of the second phase of the project
Mycobacterium avium Para tuberculosis was found in animals and humans in the first phase and this discovery is one of the first evidences that the disease is affecting humans in Africa.
In the second phase the DFG will establish the first organic lab in the region in Ibn sina gastrointestinal center
The german partners will supervise and upgrade the laboratory in Ibn sina gastrointestinal center.
The partners will train the needed staff to do all the work locally
The director of National Centre of Gastrointestinal and Liver disease Dr Abdelmonem Abdo received the visitor and welcomed him in Sudan and promised to give the needed support for the success of this leading project
