On Monday, 9 October 2023, a delegation from the National Center for Gastroenterology and Hepatology conducted an inspection visit to the White Nile Center for Gastroenterology.
The delegation met with the Director General of the White Nile State Ministry of Health, Dr. Ezzeldin Hassan; the Director of the White Nile Center for Gastroenterology, Dr. Mohamed Toum; Dr. Amjad Babiker; and the Director General of Kosti Teaching Hospital, Dr. Mohamed Adam El-Din.
The attendees emphasized the important role of the center in providing gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery services, as well as in training medical staff in the state and neighboring states.
The delegation also agreed on the need to support, rehabilitate, and maintain the center, and to provide endoscopy equipment so that it can effectively carry out its role.
In addition, the delegation stressed the necessity of establishing a financial and administrative unit for the center to benefit from the support provided to specialized gastroenterology centers, and the need to allocate space for establishing a gastroenterology center in accordance with the engineering plan approved by the National Center for Gastroenterology and Hepatology and the Curative Medicine Administration at the Federal Ministry of Health.
