The launch of the Biliary Duct Exploration Workshop at the Ibn Sina Gastroenterology Center

 

Today, at the Ibn Sina Gastroenterology Center in Khartoum, the Biliary Duct Exploration Workshop through endoscopy was launched. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Federal Health, several officials from the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State, the management of Ibn Sina Hospital, and the Gastroenterology Center.

 

Dr. AbdelMoniem Altayeb, the Director of the National Center for Gastroenterology, emphasized that the center provides free services to approximately 3000 patients annually. He highlighted that the center is among the top 20 training centers globally and ranks fourth in the region.

 

Dr. AbdelMoniem added that the "Cholangioscopy" device would contribute to advanced biliary tract surgery at the Liver Transplant Center, scheduled to open its doors in three months.

 

Dr. Mahjoub Manoufli, the Director-General of the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State, emphasized the center's significance in delivering exceptional medical services to patients and assured the ministry's support for the center.

 

Mr. Mohammed Osama, the Regional Director of Boston Scientific, expressed that the Ibn Sina Gastroenterology Center aimed to introduce cutting-edge technology in Sudan's medical treatment. He highlighted that the "Cholangioscopy" device marks a breakthrough in endoscopy treatment in Sudan and the entire African region.

 

At the workshop's conclusion, Dr. Yusra Mohamed Osman, the Deputy Minister of Federal Health, emphasized how the center alleviates the burden on Sudanese patients through its provision of free treatment. She stressed the ministry's prioritization of training and praised the center for its training initiatives. Dr. Yusra also pledged the ministry's support by providing necessary equipment to enhance treatment services and achieve localized healthcare provision.
