Visit of the Director of the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases to the Military Medical Hospital

The Director of the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases visited the Military Medical Hospital on Thursday, 25 December 2025, where he met with Lieutenant General Dr. Zakaria Ibrahim Mohamed, Director of the General Directorate of Medical Services of the Armed Forces, and Major General Dr. Al-Nour Al-Aqab, Director of Therapeutic Medicine at the Armed Forces Health Services.

This visit is part of the Federal Ministry of Health’s plan to utilize the country’s available resources for the benefit of citizens and to enhance coordination between state institutions, contributing to the advancement and development of healthcare services.

During the visit, the Director of the National Center praised the significant role of the medical staff at the Military Medical Hospital, commending their resilience during the war and their continued provision of medical services to all citizens.

For their part, Lt. Gen. Dr. Zakaria Ibrahim Mohamed and Maj. Gen. Dr. Al-Nour Al-Aqab emphasized the importance of reopening the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Department and upgrading it to a comprehensive Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department.

The visit also included inspection of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Department and meetings with the Biomedical Engineering and Endoscopy Nursing teams to assess technical malfunctions and discuss the possibility of providing the necessary technical support to restart the department.
