Wad Madani – Abu Zaid Health Center

Wad Madani – Abu Zaid Health Center

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Free Screening and Vaccination Program against Viral Hepatitis, in coordination with the Primary Health Care Administration and under the direct supervision of the Director of Health Affairs in Greater Wad Madani Locality.

The program will begin today, Thursday, July 31, during official working hours, at Abu Zaid Health Center.

We invite all citizens—especially healthcare workers and staff of medical institutions—to benefit from this free service, which aims to protect the community and prevent viral hepatitis.

This launch represents an important step in restoring the free screening and vaccination program of the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases, which previously operated through 6 centers in Khartoum State and 10 centers across other states before the war.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Planning and Organizations Administration at the Ministry of Health – Kassala State for providing an adequate supply of vaccines with support from UNICEF. We also appreciate the support of the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Medical Supplies Fund for ensuring vaccine availability. Additional vaccine doses are expected to be provided in the coming period with support from the Qatar Fund for Development.

It is worth noting that the National Center is currently operating a screening and vaccination center in Kassala, with plans to open additional centers soon in Atbara, Shendi, and New Halfa as part of the gradual expansion of the program.
