The National Center for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases launched a Hepatitis B virus vaccination campaign in Sero Al Jaleela village, in the state of Sinnar, from March 12th to 15th, 2023.
The campaign included various activities such as awareness programs and lectures to educate people about the disease, how to handle it, and preventive measures. A specialized educational program for schools was also implemented to increase awareness among the youth.
The campaign successfully vaccinated approximately 1000 individuals within two days, receiving a wide reception from the villagers. The community's involvement in motivating people and emphasizing the importance of screening contributed significantly to the campaign's success, vaccinating a substantial percentage of the village population.
Dr. Abdel Moniem Tayeb, Director of the National Center for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases, highlighted that the campaign is part of ongoing efforts by the center to combat Hepatitis B and enhance health awareness among citizens.
Dr. Tayeb emphasized that Hepatitis B is a serious disease that can lead to cancer and spreads through blood or other bodily fluids.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Sero Al Jaleela village for their cooperation and contribution to the campaign's success.
