The Director of the National Center for Gastrointestinal Diseases Inspects Al-Qadarif Center as Part of the Plan to Expand Gastrointestinal and Liver Disease Services

As part of ongoing efforts to expand gastrointestinal and liver disease services in the states through the establishment of specialized centers, Dr. Abdelmonem Al-Tayeb, Director General of the National Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases, accompanied by Engineer Abdelrahim Osman, Director of Development and Projects at the Federal Ministry of Health, inspected today the progress of work at Al-Qadarif Center. During the visit, he reviewed the level of services provided to patients and the quality of technical and administrative performance, commending the staff and the services delivered.

During the visit, the delegation met with Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin Adam, Director General of the Ministry of Health and Social Development in Al-Qadarif State and Acting Minister; Professor Sami Al-Dideri, Director of the Gastroenterology Center in the state; and Ms. Insaf Babiker, Director General of the Development Department, in the presence of Professor Dafallah Alam Al-Huda, Director of the Organizations Department. The meeting reviewed the challenges facing the center’s operations and the future expansion plan through the establishment of a fully integrated specialized center for gastrointestinal and liver services in Al-Qadarif State.

The Acting Minister affirmed the state government’s commitment to providing all necessary facilitation to support the center’s work, noting that the state government has allocated a plot of land for the construction of the new center, in support of developing healthcare services and localizing treatment within the state.

For his part, Dr. Abdelmonem Al-Tayeb announced the launch of the first phase of the Al-Qadarif Center project at the beginning of next year, with federal funding in addition to the provision of medical equipment. He also announced the allocation of a modern endoscopy unit to facilitate diagnostic and therapeutic services, as well as the accreditation of Al-Qadarif Center as a viral hepatitis vaccination center, providing free screening and vaccination as part of efforts to enhance the prevention and treatment of liver diseases in the region.

He further noted that the visit comes within the framework of the National Center’s plan to expand its services across the states and support regional centers with technical equipment and specialized staff, ensuring access to advanced healthcare services for all citizens. He also commended the important role played by Al-Qadarif Center as one of the key centers in the country.
